This is me...

I decided to start this blog because I'd like to share my experience in learning languages simultaneously.

Well, this is me… an Italian woman who decided to re-learn languages from scratch at the age of 42 because - after spending so many years learning them in a traditional way at school - I understood that I wasn't able to speak any of them.

I've always studied languages at school since I was a kid. English was my first language, and I started learning it at 8 when I was in elementary school. I kept learning it without any good results; actually, I've always thought that languages were not for me… and things went even worse when I chose "Languages" at college.

Maybe not the best choice to make at that time!

Anyway, at college I added French and German to my study plan and it was a mess… French was easier to understand because of my Italian starting point but the way it was written was completely incomprehensible to me. Not to speak about German: literally a foreign language!

My marks were bad, obviously, and my confidence in learning foreign languages was even worse.

I convinced myself that languages really aren't for me; and my teachers did nothing to change my idea about it.

But life has mysterious ways to manifest itself, and sometimes it completely changes our expectations.

This is what happened to me some many years after I finished school.
